Website Campaign Reports

We want to be sure that you’re aware of how your presence on the Skylands Visitor website works, and the various ways that you can promote your business or organization.
We promote your business online in the following ways:

Banner ad campaigns

Like print display ads, banner ads contain graphic images and relevant information about your destination or service. Banners come in different shapes and sizes and are displayed in different zones on each web page. Our ad server (Google’s DoubleClick for Publishers) controls the number of times your banners are seen and makes sure that they are spread evenly across the pages viewed by website visitors. The frequency can be adjusted to coordinate with upcoming events or optimal times of the year.
Banner ad campaigns are set up with various line items that serve advertiser creatives (banners) to website visitors.

Default line item

The default serves the ads on the right and left panels of each page shown. Right side banners are rectangular and come in various heights. Left side banners are vertical “skyscrapers”. The default campaign usually serves the most impressions to readers.

Direct line item

Direct campaigns can serve these same banners exclusively, sometimes on every page shown, to maximize frequency, usually for a short duration.

Button line item

Buttons are small generic style banners, effective in pushing an upcoming event or special offer.

Native ad line item

A native ad, or sponsored post appears above content on every page. The message can link to a story or page on your website, or announce an event or special offer.

Mobile line item

Mobile campaigns serve ads exclusively on mobile devices. Because only one ad is shown on each page accessed by visitors, mobile campaigns generate the highest banner click-through rate.
Zones for banners set up on web page templates are shown here. Check this page live to see.
The Google ad server provides detailed tracking information along any number of parameters for each creative, line item or advertiser order.

Your web campaign report shows your activity for the previous year. The stats are totaled by month for each creative in each line item.

Extended listings

Descriptive listings are included as reader resources in specified directories, on suitable map pages, and with appropriate stories. For instance an attraction or destination listing would appear in the general attractions directory, on the attractions map, on the appropriate county map, and on pages that might describe a nearby activity or attraction. Whenever possible, text links are also included in articles. Text links are tracked internally.

Profile Pages

Profiles or Sponsored Editorial can be created to promote your business either in “billboard” fashion or as editorial designed as “native advertising” appropriate for our audience. Page views are tracked via Google Analytics and with statistics provided by our web host.

E-Mail Newsletter

5,000 website subscribers also receive our e-mail newsletter, featuring current events, suggested seasonal activities, and special offers. Advertiser features or sponsorships provide well-timed, targeted visibility, and are tracked via our email provider. The subscriber list is entirely opt-in and constantly scrubbed, so that only regular readers are included. About 30% of the subscriber list reads each newsletter. Emails generally provide the highest click-through response rates.
